Authority Over Fear and Doubt
Exercising Kingdom authority in the face of fear, uncertainty, and the enemy's deceptions.
Read Prayer →"Then Jesus came to them and said, 'All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.'"
Matthew 28:18-20
This prayer flows from one of Scripture's most foundational declarations: that Christ holds all authority in heaven and on earth, and that He has transferred this authority to His Church. Too often, we live as though this is merely theoretical—a nice idea but not practical reality. This prayer invites us to claim and walk in the actual authority Christ has delegated to us.
As you pray, ask the Holy Spirit to deepen your conviction that this authority is real, present, and available to you right now. This is not spiritual arrogance or presumption; it is humble alignment with Scripture's clear teaching about who we are in Christ and what we have been commissioned to do.
Gracious Father,
I come before You this day with a specific request: that You would deepen my conviction about the authority that has been given to me in Christ. Jesus declared with absolute certainty that all authority in heaven and on earth is His. And He has given that authority to His Church. That means He has given that authority to me.
Help me to grasp this not just intellectually, but in my spirit. Help me to feel the reality of it, to walk in the practical truth of it, and to exercise it with wisdom and faith. I confess that I often live as though I am powerless, as though the enemy has more authority than he does, as though circumstances control my life rather than being subject to the authority Christ has given me.
I repent of this lie. I declare that I am not powerless. I am not without authority. I am not a victim of circumstances or the schemes of darkness. I am a child of God, purchased by the blood of Christ, and invested with His authority for advancing His Kingdom on earth.
In the name of Jesus Christ, I claim this authority over:
I declare that I am seated with You in heavenly places, far above all earthly powers. I declare that the power of Christ's resurrection is active in me. I declare that I am filled with the Holy Spirit and equipped with His authority to see God's Kingdom advanced and God's will accomplished on earth as it is in heaven.
Give me courage to walk in this authority. Give me wisdom to exercise it. Give me faith to believe that when I act in alignment with Your Kingdom, backed by Your authority, things move. Circumstances shift. Darkness retreats. People are transformed. Your will is done.
Help me to use this authority not for selfish gain or personal power, but always in service of Your Kingdom. Help me to remember that this authority is delegated authority—it comes from You, it is used in alignment with You, and it serves Your purposes, not my own.
As I step into this day, I do so with the full authority of Christ. I face whatever comes knowing that I have been given authority over spiritual darkness. I make declarations over my circumstances knowing they are subject to the authority Christ has given me. I speak truth knowing it carries the weight of Kingdom authority.
Thank You for trusting me with this authority. Thank You for believing in me enough to delegate Your power to me. Help me to be faithful steward of what You have given. Help me to walk in it with humility, wisdom, and unshakeable faith.
In the name of Jesus Christ, who holds all authority and has made me a co-heir of that authority,
Amen.
Personal Prayer: Pray this prayer slowly, pausing to let each declaration sink deep into your spirit. Speak it aloud if possible. Let the authority of these words resonate in your body and soul.
Journaling: After praying, journal about what God stirred in your heart. What conviction did the Holy Spirit bring? What resistance did you notice? What specific areas is He calling you to walk in greater authority?
Corporate Prayer: Pray this with a small group or faith community. Take turns leading sections. Allow time for others to add personalized declarations of authority over situations in their lives and ministries.
Seasonal Return: This is not a one-time prayer. Return to it whenever you need to reclaim and reaffirm your authority in Christ. Use it especially when facing situations where you feel powerless or afraid.
